2023 AFCON: CAF signal MAs of more player slots
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has informed Member Associations of the increment of players’ slots ahead of CAN Cote D’Ivoire.
The African soccer ruling body has once again changed its stand on the number of players participating country in the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations, sportglitz.com reports.
After allowing countries to register 27 players for the last edition of the tournament in Cameroon, CAF in June announced that the registered players was reversed to 23 players.
According to the update coming from the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the football body has once again increased the number back to 27 players.
All the participating countries including Nigeria have been sent a notification about the new development
The biennial competition is slated to run from January 13th to February 11th, 2024 in the Ivory Coast.
