2023 AFCON Qualifiers: DR Congo To Host Mauritania At The Japoma Stadium

On the 3rd day of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, the DR Congo will play its “home” game at the Stade de Japoma in Doula, Cameroon.

“As part of the 3rd day of the AFCON ‘Côte d’Ivoire 2023’ qualifiers, our Mourabitounes will face the DR Congo on Friday March 24 (4 p.m. UT) at the Japoma Stadium in Douala (Cameroon)” announced the Mauritanian federation in a tweet this Friday.

The information till that point was made classified by FECOFA, but now it has been released by Mauritania.

The Congolese body had until Thursday to announce its decision to CAF.

Despite the doubts that remained, the executive committee led by Donatien Tshimanga decided to do without the services of Stade Mazembe, the only one approved by CAF in the country.

For the moment, the Congolese federation has not made any announcement on the subject. The Ministry of Sports has requested a “counter-expertise” to obtain a reprieve from the confederation, a request which could remain unanswered.
