2023 FIBA Basketball Qualifiers: Cameroon Records 2 Wins And One Defeat In Window 6

The basketball Lions recorded a score card of 2 wins and one defeat in the FIFA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers window 6, in group F, with all three games being played in Alexandria.

It started on a good footing with an 85/56 win over DR Congo, a 71/63 win over Egypt, before an unfortunate defeat in their third and final game of the window against Senegal (63/89).

After defeating the Democratic Republic of Congo and Egypt, the Basketball Lions lost their third and final match of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.

This match opposed them to Senegal who took the lead from the outset and won with a score of 89 to 63.

Cameroon was not able to put their game in place, facing a very physically sound Senegalese team.

Coach Alfred Aboya said he was nevertheless “very proud of the performance of each of the players”. For him, a lot of work remains to be done to come back stronger. He remains confident in the qualities and talents of his team.

For Jordan Bayehe, the team will “stay focused on the upcoming games”. He said he was proud of the level of the competition and encouraged Africa’s representatives at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
