2023 Mt. Race of Hope: Foreigners Dominate Youth Category

Cameroon’s most coveted athletic event, the Mt Cameroon Race of Hope has concluded its 28th edition and Golden Jubilee, with signs of the young generation to work hard.
Young and fleet-footed Amos kipkirui Langat from Kenya outsmarted nationals, Zacharyahu and Karim Seth, claimed the crown for the second time in a row.
Amos did the race in an energetic fashion making it to Hut One (limit for junior athletes) and back without any major upset. As a matter of fact, he spoke to reporters on plans to compete in the senior category next year.
Chepkeoch Eleen came out overall best in the female juniors surpassing Sandrine Chinyue and Layou Nancy on the podium.
50th anniversary of the race which opened in 1973 enthroned another new winner in Adamou Issa Bouba who did the course in 4hrs 39min followed by
Amadou Abdou, 4hrs 42mins and Elvis Tah, last edition winner.
Tatah Carine claimed a magnificent 6th title in 5hrs 18min with a tight margin of 4mins separating her from Kitan Mildred in second ( 5hrs 22min) and Adamu Irene Kwaha in third.
FAP athletic contingent backed home major honors in the Men and Women relay teams.
