2023 UNIFFAC U17 – Limbe Postponed

Initially inked for this weekend, precisely – Sunday Jan. 7, the 2023 U17 UNIFFAC tournament has been pushed to January 12, 2023.

According to sportglizt sources, the date had to be rearranged as teams will do a compulsory medical test in the nation’s economic capital of Douala – this weekend.

Cameroon are holders of the U17 AFCON, as they won the tourney in 2019 hosted by Tanzania.

Given that the 2021 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations was cancelled, this will be the first edition after the expansion of teams to 12 instead of eight.

Each of the six zones received two spots in the final tournament, with just UNIFFAC left to provide her Champions. The tournament finals will be hosted by Algeria from April 8.

Teams to take part in the competition are: DR Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Central African Republic, Chad and Cameroon.

The Cadet Lions led Jean Pierre Fiala will look to get pass this stage after the Junior Lions underwhelmingly failed in the U20 UNIFFAC last December.
