‘He Really Was Hurt’, Bosz Confirms Ekambi Could Be Out For Lengthy Spell

Peter Bosz has confirmed in his post – match press – face – off that, striker Karl Toko Ekambi felt pain at his knee section, with some minutes left to the end of their first half Europa League clash against Rangers on Thursday, before ultimately demanding to be substituted.

The Europa league lead – poacher (6 goals) has been in fine fertile this season, but was forced out in his team’s last Europa league group A fixture.

Ekambi, 29, wobbled off gingerly with only five minutes from the break due to injury, leaving his place for Tino Kadewere.

Reacting the the extent of the injury post match, Bosz stated: ‘Ekambi was annoyed because he really was hurt at the level of his knee. He asked me for a change, and I was normally supposed to wait until the half time interval because, it automatically meant, losing one other possibility for a substitution. However, since he was really hurt, I had to make the change with 5 minutes to the end of the first half.’

Under Peter Bosz, the 11-goal winger has been rejuvenated and has by far been Lyon’s best player this season.

Medics at the club will conduct further examinations to determine how long Toko Ekambi will be out for. It is equally some sad event for the Indomitable Lions as they host the AFCON in 4 weeks. Moukoudi and Jean Claude Bilong are temporarily out of Lions coach, Antonio Conceiçao’s roster for now, due to injury.
