CAF CC: Complete Quarter-final Posters Known

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) proceeded on Wednesday with the quarter-finals draw of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

In the absence of RS Berkane, the cup holders who were eliminated prematurely, and TP Mazembe, who didn’t make it pass tge group stage, the heavyweight clash of this round will pit USM Alger against FAR Rabat in a poster that promises to be electric, amid diplomatic tensions between Algeria and Morocco. Travel difficulties are to be expected for the FAR, Algeria having closed its airspace with its neighbors.

Having managed to finish at the top of its group, ASEC Mimosas will make a difficult trip to Tunisia against US Monastir. Still looking for a title in the competition, the financial giants Pyramids FC will have to go up against South African’s Marumo Gallants, who made a strong impression at the group phase. Finally, the poster between Rivers United and Young Africans promises to be ‘messy’ with both sides in some sort of rivalry since their last meeting.

The first leg will be played on April 23, and April 30 is the date picked for the reversed fixtures.
