Nchindo gets YOSA off the hook at end of Round 1 against Fovu

A rollercoaster of emotions for fans of Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) was partly settled when the team managed a one-nil win over Fovu club of Baham at the Bamendzi stadium stadium, on Saturday, Nov. 25th.

After a contentious two-nil defeat to fellow Elite One foes Victoria United, Yong Sports Academy wrote to the FA and presidency of possibly exiting the championship abruptly, if the team is not given license to play home.

It was on the back foot of all aforementioned incidents that all roads led to Bamendzi on Saturday, when the men of coach Ndikum Blaise pitted 2023 Cameroon cup winners, Fovu club of Baham.

YOSA dominated earlier exchanges and eventually got her reward when a penalty was awarded the ‘yellow sub Marines’ at the cusp of halftime.

Nchindo John Bosco stepped up to convert at the 44th minute, one minute to the 15 minute recess. It was the former Cameroon U20 international’s second converted penalty, but his third goal of the campaign.

Fovu are still ranked in a playoff spot (4th) but the men of Emmanuel Ndoumbe Bosso are now on a streak of 3 defeats. The well traveled gaffer took his defeat with a pinch of salt, having formerly served on two occasions as coach of Yong Sports Academy.

YOSA meanwhile can momentarily breathe with 8 points, 2 behind 3rd placed UMS.
