AFCON 2023: Song swoops Regis Mughe for Moumi Ngamaleu

It’s now official that Régis Mughe will not participate in AFCON 2023, so, Song has called up Moumi Ngamaleu to replace the Marseille man.

Dynamo Moscow striker Moumi Brice Nicolas Ngamaleu will participate in his second African Cup of Nations. After that of 2021, the 29-year-old player will be part of the Cote D’Ivoire expedition, in a somewhat special way.

Initially absent from the list of 27, the former Young Boys striker was finally recalled at the last minute. This is because of the declination of Régis Mughe.

The 19-year-old preferred to gain playing time in Marseille rather than participate in the AFCON with his country.

Moumi Ngamaleu (2 goals and 3 assists in 16 games this season) will therefore be an essential asset on the right side of the Cameroonian attack.

Régis Mughe initially summoned only had 5 matches this season with Marseille, including no starts, no goals and no assists.
