CAF CC: Orapa Triumph Over Cotonsport In First Leg

The Botswana national stadium was witness to Orapa United’s 2-1 victory over Coton Sport of Garoua on Saturday, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Botswana representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup; Orapa United won 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, to leapfrog 16 time Elite One winners Cotonsport.

In the 23rd minute, Mbatshi Elias gifted Orapa the advantage and it stayed that way until the end of the first half.

After the break, last season’s beaten finalists Cotonsport did not take long before equalizing via their skipper Souaibou Marou.

A determined Orapa United ended up adding to the mix thanks to Thabang Mosige’s winning goal (2-1).

Orapa United will seek to get her ticket through to the next round in the return leg scheduled for October 23 at the Roumde Adjia omnisport stadium.
