Aboudi Onguene’s 11th Goal Of The Season Ensures Victory For CSKA Against Lokomotiv

Indomitable Lionesses skipper, Gabriel Aboudi Onguene scored CSKA’s second goal on Saturday Nov. 13, as they leapfrogged 9th – placed Krasnodar, in the Russian Women’s premier division.

It was on the occasion of match day 26, that the winger and her teammates got the better of Krasnodar, at the Novyye Khimki stadium.

It turned out to be a hard-fought victory, rather than what obtained pre – match, given the somewhat pathetic form Krasnodar has been in, fighting against the drop throughout the season.

Nadezhda Smirnova gave CSKA a 26th minute lead that was later doubled by Gabriel Aboudi at the 39th minute. It was the latter’s 11th goal in 26 matches played this season.

CSKA held on till the final whistle despite a late scare from Krasnodar, as
Medea Zharkova converted from the spot at the 62nd minute, to make it 2-1.

Onguene and co occupy the second place in the championship. 16 points separates them from first place Lokomotiv Moskva.

The league comes to a close on Saturday November 20. CSKA will hit the road to face this year’s champions – Lokomotiv.
