AFCON Trophy Set To Arrive Cameroon

The trophy of the most prestigious African football competition (AFCON) is set to arrive Yaounde, Cameroon, on Tuesday December 7.

COCAN minister of Sports and Physical Education – Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has just confirmed via an official press release, that reads;

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, President of COCAN 2021, has the honor to inform the public that he shall welcome the trophy of the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations “TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021” On Tuesday, 7 December 2021 at 11 am in the conference hall of his ministry. Its official presentation to the prime minister, Head of Government will be done on the same day at the star building as from 12 noon.

The caravan of the “Trophy Tour” will later on go to Douala, Limbe – Buea, Garoua, Bafoussam, Yaounde – Mfandena and Yaounde – Olembe sites. The document states.

The arrival of the AFCON trophy comes in the put a close to all the social media brouhaha of CAF, ditching Cameroon for Qatar to act as hosts. The AFCON is set to commence on January 9, at the Olembe Sports complex.
