AFCON 2021: CAF FECAFOOT, COCAN Lay Down Measures To Curb Covid-19

Less than 24days to kick-off of Africa’s most Celebrated football competion, African Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football in collaboration with Cameroon’s local organizing committee and FECAFOOT have presented a list of health protocols fans must undergo before having access into stadia.

In a release published today December 16 2021, the trio institutions states access into Stadiums will be limited to fully vaccinated spectators in possession of a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours or a negative anti-gene RDT of less than 24 hours.

The Mosengo Omba Mouelle Kombi delebrations according to CAF Online will see competent health authorities will take all the necessary measures to facilitate vaccination and the performance of COVID tests on all competition sites.

Internationally recognized independent laboratories will be incharge of testing players of qualified national teams for the sake of neutrality and objectivity.

During the African Nations Championship last January the Intermidiate National selection of the Democratic Republic of Congo decried manipulations in Covid-19 results during the quatar finals.

All 24 qualified nations are expected in Cameroon as from the last the last week of December for a second successesive AFCON final featuring this number of teams.
