Njie Clinton Reacts To AFCON 2021 Call Up

Njie Clinton has been named in Cameroon’s squad for their AFCON 2021 finals, after months of missing out on international action.

The Dynamo Moscow winger was just not going to be denied his fourth AFCON appearance in his international career, since he made his debut in 2014.

More so, the AFCON is in his native Cameroon, where it all started. Reacting to his call – up, the 28 year old told sportsglitz;

‘For me it is an honour to defend the colours of my country anytime.

‘Playing the AFCON at home is even more honourable. It is my fourth AFCON and I’m ready to give it my best shot.’ A classic Njie Clinton statement. Testament to that statement, is the amount of work he has been putting in, since the start of the year.

‘I want to express my gratitude to the coach and his staff for this mark of honour and confidence.

‘My team mates and I will need your support more than ever before,’ Njie ended.

Njie’s inclusion to Antonio Conceiçao’s squad brought joy to fans of the Lions. The latter who has banged 10 in 36 caps – remains one of the most productive attackers currently, for team Cameroon.

Njie and co start the AFCON against Burkina Faso on January 9. He will be looking to scoop a starting place for himself, with fierce competition in the team.
