WCQ: Belmadi Lists 24-Man Squad For Cameroon Clash Without Bounedjah & Benrahma

Djamel Belmadi has unveiled the list of players who will face Cameroon in the World Cup play-offs this Saturday March 19, in a press conference.

The list includes most players in the AFCON, including AFCON star – Riyad Mahrez, Yousef Balaili and Islam Slimani, alongside 21 others, in a list made up of 24.

The two big absences are Baghdad Bounedjah and Saïd Benrahma of West Ham. Benrahma has been on a little purple patch of his own with West Ham, having assisted two of the Hammers’ goals in their 2-1 home win against Aston Villa last weekend.

Complete 24-man list

There’s a return of Fedora and Boudaoui in the middle of the park, as well as Isak Belfodil and Rachid Ghazal in attack.

Belmadi and co want to bounce back and pick by accessing the World Cup finals. This will require getting rid of Cameroon in the play-offs. Moreover, Djamel Belmadi has unveiled the list of players who will take part in this mission.

Algeria’s last participation at a World Cup came in 2014, and so did Cameroon. These two have had a considerable success on the African stage, but it isn’t in their DNA to miss out on successive world cup finals. The first leg will be played in Cameroon on March 25, and the return, in Algeria – on March 29.
