Conceiçao & Arroga Eyeing Elephants’ Job

Two coaches who were formerly affiliated with different setups of Cameroon’s men’s senior teams are eyeing the top job of marshaling Cote D’Ivoire to the 2023 AFCON.

After Antonio Conceiçao, Clement Arroga has queued up on the list as the latest to apply for the position of head coach of the Ivorian national team.

Arroga is a holder of a UEFA pro coaching license issued by the Spanish Football Federation, and he is the former coach of the intermediate Lions of Cameroon.

Antonio Conceiçao meanwhile, is a top name linked with the role. His last experience on the continent was with Cameroon at the AFCON 2021 where he won third place finishing with the best attack in the competition with more than 14 goals scored.

Arroga and Conceiçao are in great company, as Gernot Rohr and Carlos Queiroz have also emerged as potential successors of Patrick Baumelle.
