La Ligue D’Égalité To Get Bigger And Better With Blockbuster Second Edition

Grassroot football franchise – Petrichor in collaboration with the Spanish football brand – La Liga, are set to kick-start the second edition of the project dubbed ‘La Ligue D’égalité’ in Yaounde, Cameroon, after a successful first event.

The first edition completely illuminated the lives of many. It comprised of 5 — teams of U13 and U15 categories, and started from Saturday, February 12, running for a month. The league was bankrolled by Petrichor and La Liga, thus, it was open for all within the age brackets of U15 and U13 categories. Club Elite topped the chart at U15 level, and Social, secured top-spot at the U13 category.

‘It’s a dream come true,’ in the words of Petrichor president – Paul Dreisbach, and that’s nothing less than it should be, considering where the project started, and where it is, currently.

Petrichor looks to make it bigger and better. The second edition will be packed to he rafters with over 600 girls expected to participate.

The number of participants has grown considerably, compared to the first edition, from 180 girls and 40 coaches to more than 550 girls and 50 coaches registered for this second season of the project.

The very best trainer’s are expected for the second camp, as they’ve gone through sessions conducted under the auspices of FUNDACION LaLiga, who over the the past weeks, developed a total of 4 workshops using the ‘Values to win methodology. A type of initiative, that was positively received by participants in the first edition.

In the sessions, more than 70 percent of the project coaches valued being taught a specific value training methodology that they could apply to train their team.

Alongside FUNDACION LaLiga, Ex female professional – Anair Lomba, and project manager of LaLiga’s women’s Football department, held a workshop last Friday with ‘La Ligue D’E’galite” coaches, who worked under flamboyant conditions and relaxed training conditions led by the footballer with extensive experience in the football world.

Lomba further immortalized the occasion by handing out certificates for the training courses to participants of the project.

On Saturday 22nd, training kits were shared with the inauguration of the regular competition, in with 162 matches expected to be played in the next 6 months.
