Rigobert Song Reveals Cameroon’s World cup Ambition

Indomitable Lions head coach, Rigobert Song has revealed his team’s ambitions for the World Cup later this month.

For him, the Indomitable Lions are aiming for the grand finale. Cameroon, one of the five representatives from Africa at the World Cup, do not do have any boundaries comes to setting its goal for the tourney.

In a video published by the Cameroon Football Federation on its social networks, Rigobert Song, the coach of the five-time African champions, believes that his team will play the final of the 2022 edition of the World Cup.

“As the president of FECAFOOT said, our objective remains the same. We will not go to Qatar to make up the numbers as in previous editions. We are going there to give a good account, which is, reaching the final of the competition.

Song only reaffirmed the objectives of the FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto’o who wants to at least see the Lions reach the final. As a reminder, the team is already preparing for the farewell game to be played before the Cameroonian public. It is scheduled on November 9 against Jamaica.

For the occasion, Rigobert Song summoned a group of 26 local players.

Nevertheless, some players abroad, mainly Saudi Arabia, joined the group like; Leandre Tawamba, Aboubakar and Epassy. Cameroon’s campaign begins on November 24 when they enter the competition against Switzerland.
