MTN Elite One: Frank To Cash In As YOSA Suspends Momo

Elite One side, YOSA, have suspended head coach Momo David until further notice after a four game winless run in group B, of the MTN Elite One Championship.

The suspension follows after a one-all draw in yaounde against Dragon FC on match day four of the championship.

Prior to that draw, YOSA gulped down a 2-1 defeat to Bamboutos, and lost to Union via the same score line, before a share of the spoils against Apejes (0-0), and Dragon (1-1).

Taking over the role of head coach is Anumewa Franklin, a household name in North West football. Franklin is credited for the rise of Foncha Street and Bafut Rangers into the Elite Two Championship.

The statement from YOSA reads: ‘due to the the recent results recorded by Yong Sports Academy, YOSA, in the MTN Elite One Championship, Mr. Kammogne Momo David, head coach of YOSA is as the date of signature of this service note, suspended from his function till further notice.

‘Mr. Anumewa Franklin A. Assistant coach takes over as interim head coach.’

YOSA face AS Fortuna next, a team fresh from victory against YAFOOT on match day four.

Sister club PWD of Bamenda sacked coach Martin Nkabyo after match day three, and the ‘bounce effect’ worked for them. It remains to be seen if same applies for YOSA.
