Elite One: Ekoi Jonas Gifts Astres First League Win

Astre’s bleak run in this year’s Elite One championship has been far from captivating, but they can now collectively punch the air prior to the FIFA break.

Ekoi Jonas struck for the Brazilians of Bepanda as they leapfrogged Fovu 1-0 for a maiden league win.

It was Ekoi Jonas’ second goal of the season in four games. All the latter’s goals have been of utter importance. His first was in Astres’ 2-2 draw against Dragon FC, before his match winner against Fovu.

He is an interesting player and person. Ekoi has matched early expectations after staying out for a good opening two games of the championship, and missing out on the other due to injury.
