Qatar 2022: Vlahovic & Mitrovic Undergo Last-Minute Fitness Tests Ahead Of Indomitable Lions Game

Serbia may have to play against Cameroon without their two out-and-out forwards as Dusan Vlahovic and Mitrovic are both sweating to get match fitness.

Serbian gaffer Dragan Stojkovic aired pre match that his two strikers are not 100 percent fit for Serbia’s second game against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

“I’m only sorry that I don’t have Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic and Flip Kostic 100 percent ready – and that’s it”, stated a the 57-year-old.

Mitrovic in particular has been fighting for match fitness prior to the world cup from club side Fulham.

The power-forward was told by coach Stojkovic that he was in his plans for the global show-piece event even if he had just a leg remaining.

Mitrovic played 83 minutes against Brazil in Serbia’s opening game. Not that the poacher had any substantial impact, as it was clear that he was not fully fit.

Juve marksman Dusan Vlahovic came on as a sub against the Seleçao at the 66th minute as a replacement for Mladenovic.

Both players are of dire importance to anything Serbia plans to build, but Rigobert Song and the Indomitable Lions could do without those two on the pitch.

Mitrovic scored 9 goals from 12 appearances for Fulham this season, while Vlahovic played 10 times for Juve and scored 6 times prior to the World Cup.
