AFCON 2025: FAZ Enters Race

In a press release shared on its official platforms, the Football Associations of Zambia announced its willingness to organize the AFCON 2025, withdrawn from Guinea.

The race to organize AFCON 2025, withdrawn from Guinea for delays in the construction of infrastructure to stage the tournament, is in full swing on the continent. Candidates are already working to convince CAF to grant them the upper hand to host the grest jamboree.

While some are considering a joint candidacy with neighbours, others have already officially made their request to the Confederation of African Football.

It is the case of Zambia, that has officially applied to host the event. The 2012 African champions hope to get the nod and perhaps win their second continental title.

As indicated by CAF, member associations wishing to host the competition will have until December 16 to submit the final offer, which includes all the application and organization documents (organisation agreement, with the host cities, government guarantees), while the inspection visits will take place between January 5 and 25, 2023.

After all the hassle, the CAF Executive Committee will choose the country or countries selected to host the competition on February 10, 2023.
