Guiness Super League Gets Start Date

After a long stint without action principally due to the World Cup break which Cameroon participated in, the women’s game is set to hit the road once more.

The championship kick-starts on January 14. The start date of the 2022-2023 season was set on Tuesday, December 20 in Yaounde, following a consultation meeting between the members of the Cameroon Women’s Football League and club presidents.

Further information was however not given about the league. The full schedule of matches for the season is still awaited.

Last season, Awa FC finished champions and they will be looking to wear their crown once more from January 14, 2023.

Franchises have however been active in the market, acquiring players especially newcomers Lekie FC and AS Fortuna Ladies who are looking to make a statement from the first kick of the season.

On a wider scale, Cameroon will be looking to provide a team to take part in next season’s CAF women’s champions League.
