Daman’s 3rd & 4th Of The Season Lifts Off Cotonsport Against Depleted PWD

Cotonsport of Garoua got their campaign well on track courtesy a 2-1 victory over familiar foes PWD of Bamenda.

It was a clash of champions: PWD (Cameroon cup champons), and Cotonsport (Elite One champions). These two teams represented Cameroon in the CAF inter-club competitions.

Cotonsport had pressure getting into the game, so did coach Nseme and his young PWD side.

Just when he was needed, Daman Abdouraman scored twice. The winger opened scoring at the 42nd minute.

Forward, Leonel Ateba scored an equalizer against his former employers Cotonsport from the penalty spot at the 56th minute. It was his second goal of the campaign.

Cotonsport was headed for a fifth game without a win before Daman saved the day for Gabriel Haman’s Men at the 60th minute.

That was that for the contest, in a game that lived up to the billing as a brawl between champions.

PWD now has no way to hide. The team’s inability to win games is staring at their face as they are only one point above bottom placed Avion.

Cotonsport moved to second in group A with 16 points. The 17-time Elite One winners benefited from Colombe’s slip, and they are only behind UMS – who are top with 17 points; after her win against Eding FC.
