CHAN 2022: Coach Harouna Includes Kassali In 26-Man Niger Squad

Niger’s coach Doula Harouna has aired a definitive list of 26 players for the African Nations Championship after over a month of intense preparations.

The list of 26 includes USGN defender Rafiou Kassali Kader, who has caught the eye with impressive performances in the Niger Super Ligue.

Kassali makes the list alongside four of his USGN teammates, which takes club’s tally to 5players donated. AS Douanes hits top of the chart in player distribution on the list (7), and they are closely followed by ASN NIGELEC with 6 players.

The Mena have played a series of test matches which includes a 2-0 defeat French Ligue 1 side AC Ajaccio.

After a brief visit to Niamey, the team will travel to Tunis where they will face Senegal and Mauritania in friendlies.

This is Niger’s 4th participation in the competition overall. The team’s best participation came in 2011 when they reached the quarter-finals.

This is a second successive CHAN competition Niger is taking part in. They pit Congo and Cameroon in group E made up of 3 teams.
