U23 Lions Defeat AS Fortuna In Friendly

The U23 Lions won 3-0 against AS Fortuna on Saturday March 12 in a friendly, as the team gears up for the last lap of the U23 AFCON qualifiers.

With all the motivation and enthusiasm to participate in the Olympics in France, a crop of local-based U23 Lions are impressing and looking to leave a mark on coach Guy Feutchine.

However, Gabon, through their last qualifiers matches have proven to be worthy opponents.

In a preparation match for the double confrontation against the Panthers, the U23 Lions mauled Fortuna.

Fauve Azur’s Saidou Ismael opened scoring at the 5th minute of the game, before Harisson ndjonkep increased tally at the 12th minute of play.

Dragon FC’s Yannick Zacharie Noah made sure of all three points at the 23rd minute, and the second half went docile due to many changes made. The Olympic Lions continue preparations in Mbankomo as they play against Gabon on the 19th of this month in Libreville, before flying to Yaounde for the reversed fixture on March 27.
