Sébastien Siani Calls-out Song For Snubbing Ngandeu

Former Indomitable Lions midfeilder Sébastien Siani has called out coach Rigobert Song for the continues Snub of Michael Ngadeu in his recent outing on RSI.

Sidelined from the national team of Cameroon before the 2022 World Cup, Michaël Ngadeu hoped for a return to the den in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. However, coach Rigobert Song once again snubbed the Gent defender. The reason for the treatment given to the 2017 AFCON winner has been advanced.

Quizzed about the events, Sébastien Siani aired that his former teammate is experiencing a very bad situation.

“The sidelining of Ngadeu was indescribably violent. Humanly, it was badly managed. He pretended to be fine but he didn’t feel well,” Siani opined.

Guest on the programme Gueules du sport on Radio Sports Info, the former Cameroonian international maintained that Ngadeu should no longer return to the selection even if he is summoned. “He was cast like trash. He won’t be coming back,” he concluded.

However, Ngadeu has not been part of team since FECAFOOT boss, Samuel Eto’o’s outburst after an AFCON qualifiers game late last year.

After the laborious match which saw Cameroon defeat Burundi one-nil in the first qualifiers game of the 2023 AFCON, Eto’o severely criticised the Indomitable Lions.

The FECAFOOT president in an inappropriate posture of coach, said in the locker room that he will not select a player who does not deserve to go to the Qatar World Cup.

He added that he could bring in the youngsters instead. As an aftermath, some players were not called up in subsequent friendlies including Zambo Anguissa and Choupo Moting.

However, key players who were left out of friendlies were finally called up for the World Cup, but Ngandeu was nowhere to be found, despite the fact that he played he most number of games (38) at the time Cameroon’s world cup list was released.

Since 20116, Michael Ngandeu, 32, played 53 games for Cameroon, helping the Lions to a Fifth AFCON crown in Gabon with 2 goals. It was Ngandeu’s header that found Toko Ekambi for the goal that took Cameroon to a record extending 8th world Cup in Qatar after a late winner against Algeria in Blida.

With these latest happenings, the KAA Gent defender is looking towards calling time on his international career, in what would seem a ‘forced decision’.
