Aboubakar Nagida scores first pro. Goal in Rennes defeat to Monaco

Since July 1, 2024, Nagida joined the Rennes first team and has continued to develop positively. Following the arrival of Jorge Sampaoli as head coach of Stade Rennais, Aboubakar Nagida has benefited from greater exposure.

During the match against AS Monaco on Matchday 19, Nagida was fielded in the starting eleven and did not disappoint. He scored his first professional goal at the Stade Louis II, in added time of the first half. After Maghnes Akliouche opened the scoring at the 15th minute, Nagida gave his team hope by equalizing. Despite the final defeat, this goal will remain etched in his memory of the youngster.

Aboubakar Nagida brilliantly accomplished his mission on the left side of the defense. He delivered a solid performance with valuable interventions.

Nagida played 70 minutes during which he touched 48 balls with an accurate passing rate of 83%.

It wasn’t all rosy, though. He won 4 duels out of 15, losing 14 balls. This was one of his weak points during game day 19. At the age of 19, the defender still has aspects of his game to improve. On Saturday, it was his eleventh game of the season against the Monegasques. Stade Rennais is going through a dark period.

With more playing time and experience, Nagida has every chance of overcoming his weaknesses and reaching his full potential on the pitch.
