AFCON 2021: Clinton Njie, Jerome Onguene And 9 Others Open Lions Camp

This Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Mundi Multi – sports complex, in Yaounde Nsimalen, at 6:00 pm local time, 11 Lions in total have warmed their seats in camp.

Included in the early arrivals are Dynamo Moscow’s Clinton Njie, and Jerome Onguene. These two have been in the nation’s capital of Yaounde, working their socks off for the better part of the last one week.

Back from a wonderful first half of the season, Salzburg defender – Jerome Onguene had practically no break. The latter who celebrated his 24th birthday on December 22 – scored twice and dished out an assist in all competitions for parent club, Salzburg, before immediately continued with work – outs in his native Cameroon.

Other players already in camp are; Moumi Ngamaleu, Martin Hongla, Mbaizo Olivier, Simon Omossola, Toko Ekambi, Efala Komguep, Andre Onana and Jean Charles Castelleto.

8 more players are en route and will join the 11 aforementioned players this night. They include;

Coach Antonio Conceiçao is charged with the responsibility of bringing Cameroon her 6th AFCON title.

Cameroon hosts the pandemic-postponed tournament, Africa’s premier football showcase, from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, five-time tournament champs, will host Burkina Faso for the tournament- opener in Group A in Yaounde on January 9. Ethiopia and Cap Verde are the other opponents of the Lions.
