AFCON 2021: Coach Neveu Sticks To Aubameyang, Names 30 Man Provisional Squad

Frenchman Patrice Neveu has aired a list of 30 preselected players for team Gabon, to camp in Dubai prior to the AFCON, later this month.

Despite some constraints at club level, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is included in the squad list. This comes as a breather for the poacher after Arteta stripped Aubameyang of the Arsenal captaincy after a disciplinary breach and has also decided to make the striker train apart from the rest of the first-team squad.

Other notable names on the list includes; Mario Lemina and Denis Bouanga.

Patrice Neveu and his charges will leave Gabon on December 27 for Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. On Asian soil, the Panthers would have two friendlies on the program, notably against the Elephants of the Ivory Coast and the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.

After the preparation course in the United Arab Emirates, the team will return to Gabon, where they will receive the national flag before flying to Yaounde on January 6, 2022, for the AFCON finals.
