Senegal were left clinging on to top spot after a sluggish performance saw them held to a goalless draw by Malawi.

Malawi just needed a goal to change the whole look of the group, but they were left cursing VAR after having a very tight-looking penalty decision overturned in the second half by referee Ngwa Blaise.

The Terenga Lions grabbed 5 points, after drawing on Tuesday, January 18, against Malawi. Aliou Cissé’s men will be accompanied by Guinea who took second place in the group despite their defeat against Zimbabwe (2-1). The Flames of Malawi have 4 points and are in poll position for the best third place, thanks to Comoros’ win over Ghana.
