AFCON 2023: Burkina Faso’s Huber Velud ready to make SACRIFICES ahead of Mali clash
Burkina Faso play against Mali on Tuesday in the round of 16, 1700 GMT at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly stadium in Korhogo.
On match day eve, the two coaches of the respective teams had a pre-match press conference this Monday, January 29, 2024. Hubert Velud, coach of the Stallions, said he is “ready at all levels”.
According to Mr. Velud, coach of the Stallions of Burkina Faso, “Mali has a balance of power”.
Burkina Faso failed to live up to expectations against Angola with a score of 2-0 defeat.
With the question of form thrown at the coach, he replied;
“The group matches are over. The journey has been positive. We have another step in this 1th final. We are not going to reminisce the past. What interests us is now is the game.
“We have to be at the top to play Mali, that offers that plays with different dynamics. The match against Angola did us good. We were able to manage everyone’s playing time. I think it has been positive. The players have their experience at this stage of the competition,” added Hubert Velud.
Concerning the health of his players, Hubert said;
“Everyone is okay except Adama Guira”. We have a great expectations from this generation. There is even more intensity in training that I need to calm down. We are ready at all levels,” he ended.
