AFCON 2023: Sekou Chelle rates Mali’s chances against Stallions

Mali’s Éric Sekou Chelle was at a pre-match press conference this Monday, January 29.

He gave his reading of the Mali – Burkina game, and notably declared that both teams have the same chances to qualify.

“Burkina Faso, like Mali, are off to a good start in the competition,” said Éric Sekou Chelle 24 hours before the round of 16 match. According to him, both teams have the same chances.

“It’s going to come down to details and it’s up to us to stay strong and carry out our game plan,” he declared.

For Chelle, the most focused team will go away with victory.

“Playing with a neighbor is always special. This is perhaps one of the most important matches of this generation,” suggested the Malian coach, emphasizing his team’s desire to go further in the competition.

The Mali – Burkina Faso game will take place at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly stadium on Tuesday, January 30 at 5 p.m.
