AFCON U17: Côté D’Ivoire’s Alynho Haïdara hits four in 6-1 win against POOR Central African Republic

Côte d’Ivoire struck hard in their opening match of the U17 AFCON, crushing the Central African Republic 6-1 in Group D. A one-sided match in which Alynho Haïdara distinguished himself with a resounding quadruple.

From the start, the young Elephants displayed their technical and team superiority. Alynho Haïdara quickly set the tone by opening the scores in the 4th minute on a pass from Cédric Gobehi. Less than ten minutes later, he doubled the lead on a pass from Moïse Diarrassouba (13th). Mobio Koidio then added to the score in the 21st minute, plunging the Central African Republic into difficulty.

Before the break, Haïdara completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot (41st). However, the Central African Republic saved their honor just before halftime thanks to Anan Otto, who took advantage of a mix-up in the Ivorian defense (45’+4).

A one-sided second half

After the break, the Ivorians didn’t let up the pressure. Haïdara converted a second penalty in the 55th minute, bringing his personal tally to four goals. At the very end of the match, Yannis Touali capped off the Ivorian feat with another assist from Gobehi (88th), sealing the final score at 6-1.

Thanks to this resounding victory, Côte d’Ivoire took the top spot in Group D and sent a strong message to other opponents. The Central African Republic, for its part, will have to react quickly to hope to stay in the competition. A painful first match for the Fauves, who will have to quickly recover.
