AFCON U17: Senegal Escapes Burkina Faso Unscathed, Books Final Against Morocco

West African country Senegal could sweep all the title on the continent after their U-17 team made it to the final of the U-17 AFCON in Algeria.

Senegal’s Teranga Cubs are sealed their ticket to the final after a hard-fought victory over Burkina Faso in the semifinal in Annaba on Sunday.

The Teranga Cub overcame the gallant Junior Stallions 5-4 on penalties after both sides played out a 1-1 draw in normal time.

After an easy ride from the group stages to the knockout round, Senegal faced their sternest test yet in Burkina Faso in the last four.

Following a keenly-contested encounter between the two, the game was decided via penalties with Senegal picking a ticket to the final.

The final will be the first-ever for the country who are on course for a precedented clean sweep of titles on the continent.

With Morocco to battle in the final, Senegal will be looking to add to their collection of continental titles won in the last two years.
