Aigle Inflicts Trademark 1-0 Win Over Eding

Aigle Royal inflicted a one-nil victory on the road against Eding Sports on match day 16 in group A, of the MTN Elite One championship.

The victory now means Aigle, who made their comeback to the championship this season, rise to third in the log with 21 points.

The game’s lone goal came 7 minutes to the hour mark (53rd minute) from Serge Bengono, after the Westerners had absorbed pressure from last season’s runners-up Eding Sports.

Eding is definitely missing combative midfeilder Mbah Louiz, who was transferred to Euroupe, and Harrison Djonkep who is in camp with the U23s.

Aigle ranks amongst the most in-form sides in this second round of the Championship, unbeaten in their last 9 games.

Up next for Aigle will be a crucial game against PWD on game day 17.

The stakes and emotions will be sky-high for different reasons, including the fact that PWD gave the team its last taste of defeat in the first round, which was a 3-0 spanking.
