AL Ahly SC Appoints New Head Coach

Al Ahly SC have appointed Serbian coach Miodrag Jesic as coach of the team till the end of the season.

The gaffer was officially presented on July 12 to the fans of the Libyan based club.

Jesic comes in to replace Serbian trainer Dejan Arsov (49) who is reportedly in line to take over the head coach role at Tunisian club Sportif Sfaxien, two days after resigning from Libyan club Ahly Benghazi.

Arsov was excused to go and see his supposedly ill wife in May and never returned only to announce his departure on July 10.

Al Ahly Benghazi are well on course to being crowned Libyan champions for only their 5th time since creation, and their first since 1991/92, as they top group A of the Libyan league with 47 points after 18 match days.

Newly appointment Miodrag Jesic will delve straight into work with a league game against 11 placed Nomon Ajbiya on match day 19.

Miodrag has managed over 25 teams including bitter rivals Al Ittihad Tripoli back in 2010.
