Amazulu 1-0 Horoya Benni McCarthy Hits Second Time And Wins!

Horoya AC lost (1-0) to Amazulu on the occasion of the second day of the group stage of the CAF Champions League on Friday, 18 February 2022.

The points were Amazulu’s first registered in the competition, and it had to come through BIG Benny, of course.

It turned out to be a historic achievement for Benni McCarthy, but for Horoya, it is carbon copy of their first game in the competition against Setif, where they lost 1-0 in Conakry against ES Sétif.

After the first half hour of the game, the South Africans got down to work, deeper on Horoya’s ‘D’ ; arc after the penalty area and eventually netted through Luvuyo Mamela (1-0) in the 32nd minute. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle of the referee.

At the end, Amazulu took her first three points of group B, after an earlier defeat to Raja. Horoya AC meanwhile, continue their campaign with a cruel, second-straight defeat.

Next opponent for Horoya will see them entangled in double confrontation against Raja Casablanca of Morocco, for the 3rd and 4th playing days in the coming weeks.
