Angola Vs. Nigeria: Pasiero kills talks of goalkeeping woes

Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro has given an update about first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali ahead of Angola clash.

The Chippa United goalkeeper picked up an injury during Nigeria’s round of 16 tie against Cameroon, before he was replaced by Francis Uzoho.

There has been several speculations regarding Stanley Nwabali’s availability for the Super Eagles crunch encounter Angola.

However, while speaking at a press conference ahead of the Nigeria’s game on Friday, Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro answered questions regarding Nwabali’s chances of being in goal for Nigeria.

Jose Peseiro disclosed that Nwabali will still undergo another test to confirm his availability on Friday.

He said,

“We have to wait for a late fitness test today, if he is not ready, I have other goalkeepers Uzoho and Ojo, who I have believe and trust their abilities, if Nwabali is not fit, I trust Uzoho.”

Stanley Nwabali took over from Francis Uzoho as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper and has impressed in the four matches he has played at AFCON.
