Anguissa Watches On As Napoli Seal R16 UCL Qualification

Out of sight due to injury, Zambo Anguissa watched his side from the bench as they blew Rangers away to confirm a spot in the knockout round of this year’s Champions league.

The Azzurri emerged 3-0 winners against Rangers, taking their tally to five wins in five in the group stage of the competition.

Luciano Spalletti’s men appeared in control from the outset against the Scottish team and it didn’t take long for them to capitalise on the early pressure, with Giovanni Simeone slotting home just after the ten-minute mark. He found the net again only five minutes later, this time with his head, adding to his growing list of big goals for the Azzurri. Napoli looked comfortable throughout and Norwegian defender Leo Ostigard also got on the scoreboard with ten minutes to go, rounding off an impressive display from the team. Next Tuesday, Napoli will have their final group game, where they travel to Anfield to face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.

Midfeilder, Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa resumed training after his thigh injury, and could return against Liverpool on the road. Prior to the Rangers game, Anguissa had appeared in all of Napoli’s UCL matches, before unfortunately picking up a knock on match day four against Ajax on October 13.
