Arnaud Sibiri Joins Iraqi Side Al Naft SC

Former Cotonsport creative midfeilder Arnaud Sibiri Sanou has signed for a season with Iraqi side Al Naft SC.

The 23 year old Burkinabe international who was at Cotonsport for 3 seasons after leaving ASF Bobo, had a stellar 2021 campaign.

All together donning the jersey of the Cotonites, Sibiri scored 17 goals and assisted 12 in 83 matches played.

His breakthrough season for the 16 times Elite One Champions was last term, when he speared Cotonsport to the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup with some sublime performances.

Al Naft SC ended 6th of 20 teams in the Iraqi premier division last term, and their best performance was back in 2016/17 when they ended runners up.

With 14 games left in the current season, Al Naft are ranked 7th with 33 points so far. They are way off leaders Al Shorta with a difference of 27 points.
