ASEC stun Wydad to take the lead in group B

Asec Mimosas of Abidjan defeated Moroccan side Wydad on Saturday at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium,  by a goal  of 1  to zero, in match counting for the 2nd day of group B of the Champions League of the TotalEnergies CAF champions league.

The only goal came through the work of Sankara William Karamoko (1-0; 72nd) in a meeting where the Ivorians faltered with attacks before scoring with their only shot on target.

The result was enough for Asec to revive their campaign after the draw conceded against Simba on the first day.

Asec take the lead in the group (4pts+1) ahead of Jawneng Galaxy Football Club from Bostwana (4pts+1) who shared, at home, the points with Simba (0-0) in the second match of the band.
