Astres Start From Where They Stopped With Win Against YAFOOT

Les Astres have picked up the pieces and lined up two successive wins in a pin to move to 9 points in group B, after 7 match days.

Goals from Under-23 Lion Ivan Djantou and skipper, Rodrigue Tchatchoua meant a second league victory for the men of coach Tonye, despite a late strike from Francis Essa Tina of YAFOOT.

Ivan Djantou opened his account at the 23rd minute of the game. Les Astres hung in there up until the 87th minute when Rodrigue Tchatchoua scored, to put a seal on it.

There were however some hearts pounding when YAFOOT got one back through Francis Essa Tina in borrowed time (90+3), but the referee called time as it ended 2-1 at the Olembe Annex A stadium.

Next up for Les Astres is group B leaders Bamboutos on Dec. 24. For YAFOOT, they travel to the west where they will play against Yong Sports Academy.

It has been a remarkable rise from Les Astres from the bottom half of the table to 5th position, while the table has turned against YAFOOT who enjoyed some little success before the break. They are now placed 10th out of 11 teams in group B with 7 points from 7 match days.
