Awaited In Bafoussam, Ismaila Sarr Returns To Watford

Ismaïla Sarr has returned to Watford while he was awaited in Bafoussam for the AFCON 2021. This followed after the winger underwent further tests in Barcelona, and was declared not totally fit – to join Senegal.

The Senegalese international striker has with immediate effect, withdrawn from AFCON 2021.

According to information from the English newspaper The Athletic, Ismaila Sarr didn’t receive the green light from his doctor and is expected to return to Watford to continue his recovery – recovery.

Sarr’s participation in the tournament had always been in doubt, after the
Senegalese football federation claimed Watford were blocking his release.

The FSF claimed Watford had displayed “disrespect, and discriminatory behaviour”.

Watford had a hunch that Sarr, who hadn’t featured in a Premier League match since November, was not even named among the substitutes in their last two games, wasn’t fit enough to feature at the AFCON.

Senegal kicked off her tourney on Monday, with a one – nil victory against Zimbabwe in group C. Mane scored from the penalty spot to help the Teranga Lions peep the warriors of Zimbabwe.
