AWCON 2022 Q: Zabo Calls Up 25 Without Feudjio & Estelle For Gambia Clash

Coach Gabriel Zabo has made public his list of 25 Lionesses for the second round of the AWCON 2022 qualifiers, with some notable absences.

The gaffer has inevitably left out midfeild metronome – Raisa Feudjio and defender Estelle Johnson.

Explaining to FECAFOOT official, the trainer insisted that those two are part of his plans, but Estelle Johnson has been left out due to ill health, and Feudjio, has to completely come back to her usual form after a career – threatening injury, sustained last year.

The Lionesses have been in camp for over a week, and they’ve had two friendlies against Apejes and TAD sports. They got the better of Apejes (2-0) and went on to sweep aside TAD Sports 5-2.

The Lionesses are roaring favorites against the Gambia but have shown frailties in recent times against relatively smaller opposition, reminiscing the Aisha Buhari Cup, where they lost to Morocco and Ghana.

The Lionesses will look to however, build momentum from the CAR game, and it up with a victory against Gambia on Friday.

Cameroon has participated in all AWCON competitions, but for 1995 when they pulled out of the competition.
