Bamboutos’ Atsama stuck in Cameroon due to non-validation of exit request
Bamboutos FC defender, Franck Atsama is stuck in Cameroon due to the non validation of an exit request – still pending at the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), sportglitz.com has learned.
The 20-year-old who was included in the Elite One team of the season last term has three big offers to try-out from Braga, Benfica and Olympic Marseille, but all those will not be possible except there is a validation of an exit request, by the Cameroon FA.
Pre-selected in coach Rigobert Song’s 54-man AFCON provisional squad, Atsama has gained admiration at the global stage in only his third season at Bamboutos FC.
Sportglitz stumbled on a letter addressed to the FECAFOOT Secretariat by Bamboutos’ Director General, Dissock Pascal on December 4, that reads:
“We come very respectfully to your high personality to request an exit authorization for the player Franck Atsama under contract in our team for the account of the 2023/2024 sports season. He is invited by SPORT LISBOA E Benfica – Futebol SAD in Portugal, to undergo a recruitment test. The period is from December 11 to 30, 2023
“You will find attached:
The club’s invitation letter, Franck Atsama’s FIFA testing form, copy of the player’s license for the 2023/2024 sports season.
“Please receive, Mr. General secretary, the expression of our perfect consideration”.
Neither has Bamboutos or the Royal Scout Soccer management Group – in charge of the player, received any feedback, with the scheduled dates for test running out.
Frank Atsama helped Bamboutos to runners-up position last Elite One campaign, after winning the 2022 Cameroon super cup with the Mangwa Boys.
Atsama has represented Cameroon at U20; where he won the 2023 Francophonie games, U23s and the senior men’s national team. The teenager’s trademark is his aggressiveness and the ability to read the game to perfection.
