Bamboutos Slip In Another High-Scoring Fixture Against Colombe
By Ngome Michael
Colombe Sportive of Dja marked its second win of the season against Bamboutos of Mbouda in an eight thriller on Matchday-8 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.
Asare Bediako and the Mangwa Boys headed into the tie from a 3-3 draw against Canon of Yaounde and boast of the best attack in the championship thus, it was logical to expect goals from the visitors.
Colombe however was quick to take the lead early in the 6th minute, through Gabriel Mballa which lasted up untill 43rd minute when pressure from the trailing side pushed defender, Bisso to beat his own goalkeeper.
Colombe responded by retaking the lead into the tunnel as Randy Ntuwe made the most from the chunk of first half added time to make it 2-1.
A more dramatic second period got off with Bamboutos committing bodies upfront which led to Nsoh Fabrice brought down in the area by Idriss Nfor and the resulting sportkick whipped-in by Katche Boris, his 7th of the season.
The attacker, barely nine minutes after restoring parity flanked in a long cross which skipped everyone but Sampson Kwasi, who converted acrobatically.
Joy cut short from a sharp Colombe counter attack that produced a cross down the left-wing met squarely by a Pascal Eze header to beat goalkeeper Munya who had strayed off his line.
The Mangwa Boys will witness two defensive howlers punish emphatically by substitute Akongo Evouna, with a brace within 3minutes. Bamboutos have therefore conceded eight goals in their last two matches with just a point from both despite scoring six times.
