Biakolo Tony: The Fatshi cup will help me experience African football

The Fatshi U20 cup in just its inaugural edition is making waves, as actors continue to praise the initiative in its early days.

The Central African Republip’s Biakolo Tony has voiced that the competition will enable him to further experience African football, given that he is based in France.

“I am coming from France and this tournament permits me to experience African football. It will help me improve,” the 16 year old rearguard opined.

Talking about his team’s pre match prep against Saturday’s opponents Congo, he added;

“We have top-notch motivation, as we increase preparations for our opener.”

For coach Ouagole Jean Richard, it is time to take revenge against Congo – that denied his team gold in the U20 UNIFFAC late last year.

“I have a good team and we’ve been working for the past year or so. We are upbeat as we prepare to play against Congo.”

CAR played the final of the UNIFFAC against hosts Congo, which they lost, and at the U20 AFCON in Egypt, the game ended in a stalemate, good enough to qualify Congo and leave CAR for dead at the group stage.

Coach Ouagole and his troops will aim to secure their first victory against CAR in the last 3 attempts, and probably win home the bragging rights when they face off at the Martyrs stadium at lunchtime.
