Billy Koumetio Recalled By Liverpool After Failed Stint At Austria Wien

Liverpool have now confirmed the return of Billy Koumetio from his loan spell at Austria Wien.

Billy Koumetio, 20, was loaned to Austria Vienna where he did not make quite an impression. He is therefore back at Anfield Road where Jurgen Klopp will assess the situation before perhaps considering a new loan in a different team.

Koumetio moved to Vienna last summer but made just 11 appearances at first-team level, spending the final weeks before the World Cup with their reserves. So it came as no surprise when Austria Wien announced his departure last week.

The Cameroonian-born Frenchman had already returned to Merseyside during the winter break, resuming training with his Liverpool academy teammates.

The English club have now recalled Billy Koumetio with their next step still unclear.

There’s a chance the 20-year-old could leave on loan again, or he could be retained in the Under-21 squad.
