Binewa Sports management group visits ahead of YOSA’s crucial away point against Victoria United

By Ngome Michael

Binewa Sports management group visited Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda ahead of their game day 17 MTN Elite One draw against Victoria United of Limbe.

Country director and Sportglitz.com editor, Giovanni Wanneh was at Green city hotel, the club’s base in Limbe, upon instructions from managing Director, Miguel Luma.

For staters, YOSA has been going through a tough financial period. The team’s erstwhile president Chido Mitterand had resigned his position, with the Yong Sports family slightly hesitant to take charge. Binewa Sports alongside its partner; sportglitz, decided to extend a hand, in line with the company’s values of promoting young talents.

12 pallets of water was handed to team captain, Nchindo John Bosco, accompanied by a sum of 30 thousands FCFA.

“We are here on short notice but our aim is to promote young talents and tell you all to keep the good work,” Giovanni Wanneh said.

“YOSA is the second youngest side in the division after Apejes,” he added before concluding that tough moments do not last forever.

In response, Blaise Tengoh, the team’s gaffer replied: ” there is nothing too small for us at this stage. I will like to use this opportunity to thank Binewa Sports and its boss”.

After the lads had received the much needed motivation, YOSA came from a goal down to draw against Victoria United and keep their hopes alive for a playoffs spot.

Victoria United took the lead from the penalty spot courtesy a perfectly stroke spot-kick by Junior Djackba.

The former Djiko FC forward was intelligent enough to lure Yindui Mohamed into making a sheepish tackle in the area, which was eventually converted.

YOSA stayed calm, cool and collected, before eventually getting an equaliser 7 minutes to the end of the game.

A lovely combination between Nchindo John Bosco and Junior Nguimbat saw the latter in the area, and he slotted past a much advanced Parfait Fokam for one-all.

The Binewa Sports management group went on to congratulate the team for snapping a precious away point, promising more in the offing, for not just YOSA, but other teams in Cameroon, through country director, Giovanni Wanneh.

Binewa, which has its country base in Buea, South West region of Cameroon, has organized top sporting events, amongst which, was the U17 Pre-AFCON tournament in 2019, Tanzania.

The company engages in: players and coach representation, sports tourism and international camp organizations.

A win for YOSA against Fovu on game day 18 in group B will automatically see the 2013 Cameroon cup winners graduate to a playoffs spot.
